Jump Through Hoops
i felt sad because it became apparent
that you never read any of my letters
or listened to any words i had said
i felt sad,
because in the beginning,
i had spelled out the words on my soul
and i thought you loved me
now i know that had never taken hold
i feel foolish and somehow duped
especially when i had felt so guilty
and spent so long jumping through hoops
