Mellow Age
it is strange to age and become mellow
mellow,
about one’s childhood
the stormy red sunset somehow melting away
it is strange to age and become reflective
about one’s relationships
those you loved with your beating heart
the one you wore –
on your angry angst ridden sleeve
those older women –
that i knew would always leave
it is strange to age and find some humility
and find humility –
for those who never shared any
that is how i feel about them
i know they never read any of my letters
to me it is no wonder they journey without friends
