I Do Not Want To Live In Their Box
i do not want to live in their box
it’s small,
it’s crumpled
and it’s not really me
there is no room to manoeuvre
and i never feel free
i do not want to live in their box
the walls are narrow minded
and the roof let’s the rain in
the floor,
it feels fake
hope and happiness seem far off
or at least it’s very late
i do not want to live in their box
the opinions that have been used to build it
have no real space
i cannot not express who i am
and they do not dry the tears on my face
i do not want to live in their box
made for me,
but it only suits them
its foundations are false
and as i try to move i take blow after blow
it is no wonder i bruise so easily
i do not want to live in their box
