The Lighthouse That Never Shone – Written Thursday 19th October 2006 (Aged 31)

The Lighthouse That Never Shone

like all bullies,
when the attack is returned
they cower and cover themselves
saying,
you did that…
you said that…
i am the victim…
but of course that is not true
the aggressor that becomes the confessor
and dismissed the truth
they feign victimhood
desperate to be the persecutor
immature, emotional guilt
all poorly applied
designed to hide the gaps underneath
when you attack back
they counter attack
with an out of context argument
never dealing with their own initial attack
simple, changing, moving on
bullies, with the the dud lightbulb
the one in the lighthouse that never shone
