What I Said Last Night – Written Friday 20th October 2006 (Aged 31)

What I Said Last Night

i regret the things i said last night
it was wrong of me
i fell to such untamed emotion
and how many times have we been here
the victim of their abusive nature
sailing solo on unquenched tears
how many times do i tell them
yet still they did not listen
they shout from their garden of eden
but its flowers no longer glisten
i am just so angry and frustrated
their accusations had such implications
and it was only said to hurt me
so that i could fit in with what they believe
i regret the things i said last night
i lashed out in anger and frustration
it’s just, i have been so run down
by a constant train of abuse
constant put downs and negativity
it is so hard to keep getting up
and to keep dusting down your dignity
