You Deny Me
you told me –
i was all genetics
so you deny me –
my life experience
both good and bad
you deny me –
the abuse i experienced
and i suffered
and all it taught me
you deny me –
the friends i found
and the joy they taught me
who are you –
to me nothing but a stranger
and what right –
do you have
that enriches me
you deny me –
my life experience –
and that is wo i am
