The Search

the child within me
the endless search –
for the warm calm sea
take me to it,
take me there
on the words you say
and the feelings we share
the father within me
the father not yet seen
for it has not yet happened
i have not realised that dream
the endless search –
for the true me
for the warm calm sea
take me home
take me there
the place where you feel least alone
you are my home
the place at which i wish to stay
take me with you
take me today
the child within me
