Tick-Tock – Written Tuesday 1st August 2006 (Aged 31)

Tick-Tock

old before our time
age,
not measured in years
but in the true depth of our tears
no aging through the process of time
but by each layer of fear

tick-tock
that’s the sound that never stops
it’s the circle of time
upon life’s clock
old before our time
and haunted only by dead people
not thinking that they have gone
because to life,
they once clung

tick-tock
now those people are gone
and we are old before our time
age,
not measured in our years
but in the actual depth of our tears
not aging through the points in time
but each and every layer of our fears
