You Fear Ordinary

you fear ordinary but did you know –
ordinary can be unique
it depends upon your voice
and how you speak
your identity remains
and so much is locked up –
in how others love you
you fear being one of the crowd
yet that very crowd,
is exactly,
where you want to disappear into
far away,
from the intrusive day
far away from the person you love
but a person –
who regularly overdoses –
on a kind of learned helplessness
you do not want to be just the same
but being the same is just fine
