Reach

when they made you
they stamped,
‘i can’t’,
in your mindless brain
they gave you slag
to stoke up your train
and they taught you –
there is always someone else to blame

when they made you
they taught you
there is distance between you and the stars
but,
that was the wrong thing to teach
they should have taught you confidence
and that the stars can be within reach
that dreams,
need not be so beached
