You Never Reached Me

you never reached me
yet, i cried out for your love
i wanted your acceptance
but you never saw me
and never found my direction
i cannot understand it
why did you do what you did
i tried to reach over the cliff
i tried find a place
where everybody fits
when i needed a sorry
there was none to be found
when i needed a compliment
you just put me down
comfortable silences,
filled with delusional sounds
you never reached me
and i know part of you just does know
