I Am, I Am, I Am… – Written Sunday 9th December 2007 (Aged 32)

I Am, I Am, I Am…

who am i?
i am the car crash –
that everyone tries to avoid
even i would try to stop
or swerve around it
and of course –
i am that man
the one i saw wearing a trilby hat
he hung on for dear life
but was he too late –
to meet the wife?

who am i?
i am the soap opera
that none would ever watch
i am the clock
that every now and then
comes to an unnatural stop
and of course –
i am that man
the one i saw wearing a trilby hat
i saw him on the underground
hanging on for dear life
and i know exactly how he feels
god knows, this is so hard
and is any of it actually real?
