I Have Seen People – Written Wednesday 31st August 2005 (Aged 30)

I Have Seen People

i have seen people cry when they fall
when they do not know why
when they cannot help an addiction
or even measure the high
i have seen people fall to the floor
and then barely able to kneel
when they cannot afford the bill
when they look around –
and do not know why the world is so ill
i have seen people hate when they fall
when happiness is taken or it is too late
sometimes we are just victims of fate
you cannot put them in a crate
i have seen people laugh when they fall
but with all of their heart –
i have seen their magic smile –
make the depression depart
