Pretty Made Up Eyes – Written Thursday 2nd October 1997 (Aged 22)

Pretty Made Up Eyes

i remembered your smile
in the darkest moment of my day
i remembered your smile
made me stop and think for a while
we’ve all travelled for years
i may tell you about it someday
but i have more to say –
than there are minutes in the day
i remembered your smile
even when i could not remember
what it was i was remembering
it had left its imprint
the sort of smile that leaves you –
lost in thought
and the thought of –
how can it be caught
i remembered your smile
my affection, easily bought
but you bought it well
i wish i was not so shy
time will tell though
whether i should have tried
i remembered your smile
and your pretty made up eyes
