It Never Goes Away

miss you
days go by –
and you still pop up in my memories
(as if you ever left)
towns and cities have risen and fallen –
in our lives since you went away
miss you
miss you everyday
i wonder what you would say
if you could see us today
if you could see us now
i could sit you down and tell you all our stories
miss you
i am much older now
and i been through this and that
i have been through thick and thin
miss you,
i know, i know you are never coming back again
