Safety of Truths

friendship –
is a safety of truths
not memories
or cool slate roofs
it is,
the defiance of being yourself
it is the space between the belt
it is hot ice cream –
on memories that rarely melt

friendship –
is a piece of sky
now and then travelled
it s where the red carpet of honesty
becomes unravelled
it is the place,
where you ask for time off in lieu
just from the hard work
of just being you

friendship –
is a safety of truths
from days of vivid colour
to memories doused in a heavier blue
that is friendship
and that is me and you
