Lost And Found
i lost you in the lies –
that i harvested as a teen
my twenties came with a shock
and an ongoing scream
i found you again,
when the weight of my city
had caused a final collapse
when i had given back the rod –
which i had made for my own back
my thirties have drifted into view
with a document of lies
and an embrace of identity
that defined my personal skies
i found you in my sleep
where you have a chest
which contains the feelings i keep
then i found you in my world
and i knew it was true
let life carry us now,
it’s so hard not to want you
