You And Me
i am scared to death
you can draw my breath
of course,
you have your spot,
right inside my chest
but it’s good to be scared
then,
you know that it’s real
i need to kiss you
it’s not a reminder
it’s exactly how i feel
i just need to kiss you
it’s hanging here,
like an orchid in the spring
i used to hang onto a ledge
and what misery that used to bring
i am scared to death
lest i wake up,
and suddenly it’s how it used to be
just me here,
and not you and me
