Don’t Redecorate The Room – Written Tuesday 26th February 2002 (Aged 27)

Don’t Redecorate The Room

don’t redecorate the room
maybe add some candles
but keep the memories
do not close the door
leave it slightly ajar
look out of the window
you have come so far
don’t change the wallpaper
and don’t move the bed
this room is your life and –
it revolves like a carousel in your head
don’t redecorate the room
change is sometimes is needed
but loneliness that comes too soon
needed only be a warning heeded
stay just as you are
capitalise on that inner thing
that sets some people apart
don’t redecorate your room
believe me, you don’t need a new heart
