You Give Me This

you give me this
this feeling,
no bows
no ribbons
no forget me knots
rock me to sleep
from the bed or cot
you give me this
what cannot be wrapped up
and i don’t just put up
or ask you to shut up
paradise is this,
something that cannot be described
but upon your being
it’s identity is inscribed
i wander,
shallow as a clown
across the hills
to the lure of your eiderdown
you make me feel,
you give me this
