Attachment Theory
i am soft to the touch,
but it was my parents –
who put my instruction manual on a fire –
somewhere in 1978
i was good to go,
but something inside was water logged
when my mum,
started making plans in 1982
the tears harvested were nothing new
i can love and love can know me
my love can certainly know you
and our love should help us see
because i am there to be cuddled
and rolled over in bed
put your arms around me
and fill me up with you loving words
i am soft to the touch,
but my parents accidently short circuited –
my attachments and my emotional development
and they tried to rewire me –
somewhere in 1987
but in the end all i could do was try to repair myself
i am receptive to your touch
and fully attached to your love
