Just Once?

did you look once, did you think just once?
did you think before you were married?
before you hurtled down the runway –
with you desperate looking undercarriage
and so you want to know about me
you want to know about the things i like
and the things i hate
if you like, i will write you a list
and at the top, i will add a wish
and that wish will be –
that you never make me feel like this
like this inadequate child –
searching for acceptance
do you want to compile a list –
of crazy first perceptions?
i do not know where you come from
did you look once, did you think just once?
did you think before you had children
i am convinced that you didn’t
