When The World Goes Mad
when the world goes mad
there is always someone –
telling you how to live
what should i do
do they even know how to give
is that me, is it you
when the world goes mad
the teacher teaches the horde
but there is no teaching
because they’re struggling –
to set up the blackboard
and when we ask to see the contract
we’re informed there is no get out clause
while the world burns away
the people we need disappear
it appears to be a permanent holiday
they seem to out of reach
and what can you say
they are not even on the beach
should we be happy,
or should we be sad
there is always a silent preacher
while the world goes mad
