Lunch On The Terrace
it is okay for you –
lunch on the terrace
comes with a nice view
creeping poverty –
never need to trouble your soul
you have grown,
and you have memories to hold
is this any place for a family
would this be a top ten pick
if i clear the debris
there’s still no chance of picnic
it is okay for you –
you doused your eyes –
in the summer of 1962
when they closed the gates
and locked the doors
the happy trippers,
is the last thing you saw
the poor, the socially deprived
they are jettison and flotsam
and you watch them go by
never once thinking –
your costal line is always sinking
