Floating Away – Written Monday 29th May 2023 (Aged 48)

Floating Away

still want you

even if it looks like i am floating away
i know,
the balloons are cheap
and the seasons remain incomplete
but…
still want you
and i still want to be needed
the match has finished
the arguments have been conceded
and no one really succeeded

still want you

i am floating but i know i am back to share
and i need a dock
time is meaningless
so they give it away in shops
and the past,
is one great unidentifiable story
one of brazen tasks

still want you

    1. Thank you – I am not sure is has specific meaning, I just like the words and the idea – which is fine. Sometimes my writing is almost a semi controlled stream of consciousness – I very much live in my world when it comes to writing. I write what appeals to me in terms of words and phrases, but then, we all have a kind of ‘writing fingerprint’, the best writing does, you certainly do.

      1. Awh, that is a wonderful comment, thank you! 🙂 I van relate to what you’re saying. Sometimes, the words just fit… and when they do, they get meaning. Doesn’t have to reflect what you feel all the time, sometimes the sculpting is what matters. Certain phrases feel right, so they must be written down. 🙂
