Falling Off a Cliff
i understand what it is like –
when you catch your wellbeing
and your mental health –
in bed together
there is no hiding
and a troubled prospect of surviving
i know what it is like –
when they both fall off a cliff
and you are falling
part of you is terrified
but part of you finds it very exciting
you want to save yourself
but there is excitement
coupled with self destructive entanglement
i cannot tell you
of the places i have gone to
shadow places in my brain
memories, some lit up by shame
and so much shallow ego fame
but i know what it is like
to be there toppling forwards
