Victimhood – Written January 2006 (Aged 30)

Victimhood

for some reverting to being a victim
it’s a simple psychological tool
one,
which takes away responsibility
as a victim you can justify any action
simply as a reaction
and therefore not your own
except that is flawed and it does not work
accountability is still key
you still cause hurt
that is why people play the victim
although,
often over aggressive the smallest of nudges
– makes them very submissive
reverting to being a victim
is easier than saying you are wrong
there is a chance it will gain sympathy
and that it will gain attention
but often, it’s just a distortion of reality
choosing to be a victim
is so far removed from actually being one
playing victim means the weakest excuse is provided
it diverts attention away from their actions
and it onto themselves
hoping to exchange scorn for pity
i know though they long to be somebody else
