The Teeth of My Blade – Written September 2006 (Aged 31)

The Teeth of My Blade

i showed them the teeth of my blade
as i try to burn down these attacks
i rush back,
but they had me by noose and rope
it stifled the atmosphere
of a poor joke
i showed the root of my being
and the rooms of my mind
i show them my own leonardo ceiling
i rushed through the gate
as the vehicle gathered pace
but i was too early,
even though this is the human race
i showed them the teeth of my blade
i showed them all of my terrible dreams
i know that only they –
can save all the witches and wizards
and all the spirits and all the demons
but i treat them as fiction,
they roll around my eyes and eat my diction
i showed them the teeth of my blade

  1. “i rushed through the gate
    as the vehicle gathered pace
    but i was too early,
even though this is the human race” This is so clever! I also love the last two lines… outstanding imagery, as always.
