Family Cycle – Written Tuesday 3rd April 2007 (Aged 32)

Family Cycle

break the family cycle
break it,
before it’s too late
hands clenched in anger
a face full of hate
you remain dumb faced
stop,
before it is too late
break the family cycle
the one that has you in chains
stop history repeating itself
stop this constant pain
but,
he grows up,
just like you
unable to break the family cycle
you did not know what to do
and weakness takes you
with it’s anxious hands
and it leads you to excuses
rather than to understand
break the family cycle
stop,
before it’s too late
do not let the sea consume
do not succumb to self imposed fate
