Lonely Wears Your Raincoat – Written May 2007 (Aged 32)

Lonely Wears Your Raincoat

lonely wears your raincoat
just as longing –
stole your wellington boots
and someone else
ripped you out by the roots
whilst other people on the cruise
gorged on your fruit
desperation burgled your open farm
and adulthood –
gave you a kind of switch blade harm
one good thought,
but too many qualms
feeling took a shot at reality
but it was shelved –
by the bodyguard of insanity
and big black clouds
drip onto the bed at night
i know you ghosts play the xylophone
but they never hold you tight

James Garratt – May 2007

Love this!! Also, the xylophone made me smile… very clever. 🙂
