Brother – Written Tuesday 22nd May 2007 (Aged 32)

Brother

despite the heartache
despite the resentment
and despite the distance
which is further than it should be
he is still my brother
and whilst others my judge
and think their family is better
he is still my brother
and that love flows through me
i would do anything to ease his pain
and in his own way,
he has always looked after me
and of course,
there have been mistakes
mistrust,
and i am sure at times some hate
but he is still my brother
and people like you may judge us
on the level of our family perfection
which you yourself,
have not really obtained
he is still my brother
and i feel my love and i feel my pain
i have no other
and no one else gave me counsel
no one else looked after me
he sill my brother
