I Could Be a King – Written Sunday 4th January 2009 (Aged 33)

I Could Be a King

i could be a king
if i was not left to drown
a special king,
with an unnatural crown
i could be a king –
of all i survey
a wonderful king
if i could just save the day
and learn to swim
i could be a king –
of your domain
a good king –
without all this rain
which collects in my bin
and drowns us all once again
