The Science
if the maths does not add up
then i know the science –
certainly never made sense
i almost flirt and force –
in some stupid hope –
someone else –
will dig up my hope and laughter
just as you did and you do
because once it lay dead
and once is was sunk deep
how once i never thought i would
and you awakened me from a sleep
but no one else does
not in the same way
i cling to strangers like they’re friends
i recount a million stories
as if life never really ends
if the maths does not add up
then i know the science –
certainly never sense
