Blanket Givers – Written Monday 19th January 2009 (Aged 33)

Blanket Givers

people tell me who i am
but it rarely gets close
it sometimes strikes home
but often misses the mark
they just hold candles
to illuminate the dark
people can listen to me
as i bare my soul
some are blanket givers
convincing me that it’s cold
some are terrible forgivers
trying not to get that old
people make assumptions
offering comfort where they can
it is all just life consumption
do any of us really understand
