We Used Up Our Tomorrows
we used up our tomorrows
we won first prize
but it was in a contest of sorrow
and when it came to the future
for us,
there was none to beg or borrow
all because –
we used up our tomorrows
and now,
all i can do,
is sit and think on
people will never know my feelings
now you are gone
no one can, just be the same
just as there is no cure
for such embedded pain
and we did –
we used up our tomorrows
we lived day to day
an illustrator for our feelings
and now it has gone away
we could have been so much
built a house out of the future
with foundations of touch
a closeness that did not have to break
but we used up our tomorrows
and now tomorrow will have to wait
