Fireworks and Sparklers
outside in the cold are the people
making do with just sparklers
then there is the rest of us –
cradling experience and pints of hurt
we have dreamt of finding fireworks
one that produces more than just a burst
those we fall for and explode with hurt
making do,
and just getting by with the sparkler
which eventually dies
but dreamers and the like –
wait for the fireworks that will last forever
never content with sparklets
and living an empty together
