Bite My Tongue – Written June 2006 (Aged 31)

Bite My Tongue

it hurts to read what you write
have to bite my tongue
hard not defend myself and fight
have to bite my tongue…
have to…

i try to snuff out the attention
on which you feed
it hurts though
and it’s deeply unfair on me
have to bit my tongue
have to…

there is no honesty in you
nothing that shines bright
just half arsed, half baked bitterness
and a lack of actual life
have to bite my tongue
have to…

i watch as others congratulate you
as you lap up their cheer
for such a friendless being it’s remarkable –
that you’re so convinced they are near
it hurts but i know it is designed to hurt
like the spoilt brat kicking out
and turning on me
the one so easily made sad
and yet claims, they can easily love
have to bite my tongue
have to…
