Said Today
what are we going to do—
you and me,
you and i—
just us,
wondering why,
speaking with a sigh,
tears in our eyes,
our minds full of surprise,
watching the sunrise—
a slow ghost on the horizon,
burning bright,
like the moonshine night.
my head is full
of things to say,
things i can’t leave
till tomorrow—
things that must
be said today,
to save
any broken sorrow.
but it doesn’t matter—
not if i’m too scared
anyway.
i tiptoed quietly
past your thoughts,
hoping not to be caught,
but you were never listening.
your ears—firmly closed.
your doors—
shut tight,
blocking every route.
am i really
one of your foes?

Said Today – Most Likely Written Between November / December 1993 (Aged 18)

Wow. To write a piece like this at the age of 18… that is really cool. 🙂

Thank you. Yet I look at it and I am embarrassed by it. But thank you x. There was a bit detective work involved to date this but it’s the end of ‘93. It’s from a college pad that I had. I didn’t start the process of writing regularly in writing pads or consecutively until the beginning of ‘94.
