Sense of Sadness – Written Wednesday 14th June 2006 (Aged 31)

Sense of Sadness

it was a sense of sadness
that crept over me
seeing you still passing judgements
on the relationship between me
and my father
the one i never truly had
however, no matter what has happened
he is still my dad
of course,
it hurt to read what you had written
considering it was my wedding day
but then, you never let how people feel
get in the way
you should know all about growing up
and that it can be very hard
but accepting that parents are human
for all their flaws, is an integral part
nonetheless, it was a sense of sadness
that i found creeping over me
and i admit it, i felt deeply hurt
as if this private thing had been invaded
because, what do you know about my past
you certainly weren’t there on that ship
as some of us clung on to the mast
