Maybe It Is You?
maybe i do have a mental illness…
let me think about it
well, i am reasonably happy with who i am
of course,
far from perfect…
yet something i can at least understand
yet, some still insist on putting me in a box
indexed,
like a this summers latest catalogue
these people,
they tell me i am odd
that i am weird and it must be in the genes
well, apart from never constructing sign posts
which is why i get lost in dream
i have never felt odd or weird,
of course,
far from perfect…
yet,
i do not feel the problems that others perceive
maybe i am drunk on my own blind ignorance
maybe sanity has taken its leave
yet i do not feel like a category
the type of thing found in cheap magazines
that litter a table,
in a packed and crowded doctor’s surgery
i do not think i am somehow sick
and nor do i fee i am challenged mentally
