Victim or Fighter

write a letter to your abuse
tell it quite sincerely –
that you never need a noose
tell it as well –
that you are never ashamed
explain that you are not afraid
and that you’re not to blame
tell all this –
to the abuse you have suffered
tell it that you will not hide in corners
and you will not be smothered
tell it as well –
that you will not take second best lovers
writer a letter to your abuse
and make the letter long
make sure you get straight to the point
use words that concise
and make your picture crystal clear
tell your abuse –
that you will not live in fear
nor will you sail through life
marooned in a pool of your own tears
write a letter to your abuse
victim or fighter?
make it clear which option you choose
