Wedding Day Approaches

wedding day approaches
women stop me,
and ask how it feels
and if it is all arranged
it does not seem real
another twist on the game
how did i get to this point
i said at twenty,
that i had lived so much life
i was wrong,
to say there was more to come
would have been right
wedding day approaches
men look on,
just floating in a shoal
a look which say i am gone
and onto further dreams
i smile all the time
and i check my laces
pulled up by the thoughts –
of these gallant faces
wedding day approaches
