Just For Once
just for once i did not feel close
our friendship,
it had a gap
i wanted to open up
but she held back
of course i understand her reasons
it has been snowing
meaning it’s such a cold season
the strain was evident
she did not have to tell
there was a sigh and a smile
she did not look too well
these changes in our lives
they take their toll
and they take their time
she rubbed her eyes
but i could not ease her mind
and i did not feel as close as i once did

Hi! Yes, I am okay. Chaotic, new, frightening but necessary developments on my side of the ocean, so it doesn’t get boring. 😉 Hope you are okay, too!
I enjoy how much you can say in just a few words. Beautiful.
