I Stopped Caring – Written Tuesday 7th March 2006 (Aged 31)

I Stopped Caring

i felt it fall away last
the pain,
and the and
i realised the, ‘laughability’ –
of forgive and forget
i mean,
the concept is fine
but without personal change
then mistakes will just repeat themselves
time after time
for example,
you do want me me to forgive and forget
hide your blushes,
and sweep it under the carpet
sort of pretending it never happened
well, to be honest
i have gone beyond forgive and forget
i went beyond that a long time ago
in fact i stopped caring –
when i got nothing back
i stopped caring –
when i was constantly put down
i stopped caring –
when you took everything out of context
i stopped caring –
when became clear how selfish you are
