Understanding – Written Thursday 16th February 2006 (Aged 30)

Understanding

compassion is understanding
no, not martyrdom
and no, not victimhood
compassion is not about recognition
compassion is just there
it does not need to be highlighted
and you,
you never showed any compassion
you never made any effort to understand
you never once reached out
and you never really offered your hands
instead, you failed to deal with problems
you reverted to fantasy and lost facts
compassion, it is not patronising
and it is never martyrdom
truly, it is never about victimhood
