It’s Been a Hard Year

watching you leave
was hard
and it has been a hard year
letting you go
getting out of my head
knowing, knowing –
that no words can be said
and as feeling continues growing
my hope leaves on a sledge
watching you leave
me, trying to be –
the greatest friend ever
able to be all things at once
did you know though –
in my throat was a lump
as i watched you go
