Yours Faithfully

the problem is –
being young seemed to be exciting
‘getting older’,
less inviting
but being young –
was only held in the arms of the unknown
and novelty
when you know so little
then you can have no awareness –
of things that are so brittle
it’s not advancing age that builds your cage
it is experiences –
that slave over the lathe
and then build the cage
‘growing old gracefully’
is the least exciting letter
barely signed, yours faithfully
