Blue – Written Wednesday 20th April 2016 (Aged 41)

Blue

mentally imbalanced, possible unwell
i thought you could say
after all that is my definition
surely you must know
we all need a condition –
to exist and operate in this modern world
that is how things go
the failure of our society
excluding the many, rewarding the few
have left people in colour,
usually blue
i am this, i am that…
hoping that the world around will take note
even if it is shorthand
but the world does not understand
because time is very short,
possibly fleeting
and time is searching for hands
for a reassuring handshake greeting
but life will will slow down your hope
like a terminal work meeting
the world possibly should care
but these days, stocks run low
with compassion and the ability to share
just be who you are,
in that hopefully naĂ¯ve kind of way
planning and planting your days
publicity is sociability but with no depth
