I Got Your Joke

i miss our friendship
i miss being with you –
in another part of the world
we have always –
felt the same about this world
the one we live in
we laughed at the same things
and we tried to make sense of it
even shared similar dreams
i got your joke –
the first time i met you
and i have never stopped laughing
life for us, it seems to pass quickly
somethings are everlasting
i miss our friendship
and i miss being with you
i miss sitting down and holding a mirror –
up to a world
that too often, poorly reflects
you are always my deepest thoughts
and my absolute respect
