Headache – Written Monday 13th October 2003 (Aged 28)

Headache

this headache haunts me
this headache,
the one that spills over
with undisciplined creativity
and the one,
that is never connected to reality
where the ego meets,
full on vanity
so this headache continues
i was young in the 1970’s
i was coming of age in the 1980’s
i struggled in the 1990’s
now it will not seem to go
and i know,
that some envy artistic talents
but i say it is more use if you know
and then have something to show
because it does not pay the bills
the way that you feel
this headache haunts me
success evades me,
the kind that would make this headache go
make this headache disappear
well welcome to the corner
choosing between hope and fear
